Multiple intelligences

The theory of multiple intelligences is gaining widespread recognition as a useful approach to ensuring that the diverse needs of all children are met. Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences emphasizes children's learning in eight different areas (Gardner, 1988):

  • Visual-spatial

  • Interpersonal

  • Intrapersonal

  • Musical

  • Linguistic

  • Naturalistic

  • Logical-mathematical

  • Bodily-kinesthetic

Taking a more ecological approach, it is crucial that games and materials offer a selection of different activities to foster all intelligences, not just linguistic ones. Designers should consider incorporating elements of free play into materials, which fundamentally involves the possibility of choice. Free play has been defined as a universal phenomenon widely observed during childhood (Rubin, Fein, & Vandenberg, 1983). It is internally motivated and is characterized by children's free choice of their own rules, location, and means of play, and by a high level of active participation.

Educational cartoons designed to help young children learn English as a second language. These cartoons can be used as teaching resources in schools, kindergartens, daycare centers, or at home.

Short interactive games to reinforce what children have learned from board games. Designed to be played toward the end of the learning process, they can be used even by schools with limited internet access in blended learning. Children can play these games at home with their families and then share their experiences at school.

10+ board games, one for each episode of the animated series, designed to reinforce learning and participation; they come with a deck of cards and colorful dice, adding a fun and interactive element to language learning.
